I know the pics aren't the sharpest but I thought I would take some snap shots something got into one of the young males and he thought he would try to move up in ranks he took on the dominant male for hours in displays literally
This female got caught peeking and the dominant male chased her away

I do feed them a little of everything I use flake, sinking staplefood pellets some frozen food: brine shrimp almost every day but lightly a cube for several tanks, some plankton, emerald entree (mix of animal and vegetable),glassworm less often and a frozen cichlid mix only because it was left over. They also seem to like the hikari shrimp cuisine as well, and of course their own fry I also find they tend to be more colourful during displays. The pictures were taken in my display tank
Most of the males in this tank are hand picked f1, one of the fish in the pictures was my oldest (wild caught in 2007) |
